 1).Ussangoda

  














Ussangoda National park is a Sri Lankan national park and designated archaeological site, situated on the Colombo- Kataragama road near Ambalanthota- Nonagama Junction in Hambantota District. It is located in the southern sea turtle breeding zones.Ussangoda is a patch of high ground by the sea and spreads over a significant area. The park's landscape is unique with red soil stretching out in all directions, and having a stunted vegetation of grass and moss in and irregular pattern.

2). Kelaniya Temple.
  

Kelaniya Temple built on the banks of the Kelaniya River is one of the most sacred sites of Sri Lanka.It is believed Buddha together with 500 Arahats visited Kelaniya on the Wesek day of the Buddhist Era 2531 and expounding of the Dhamma, the Buddhist doctrine to the inhabitants of the island.Buddha’s timely visit to the island resulted in quelling an imminent war between two kings named Chulodara and Mahodara over a jewel–encrusted throne.Buddha having preached the doctrine on the disputed throne offered to him ensued lasting peace between the two kings.The great stupa built upon the site enshrining the throne was since then called Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara.

3).Rawana waterfall.


Ravana falls is named after the demon King Ravana who according to traditional folklore is believed to have ruled Sri Lanka.It is a popular sightseeing attraction in Sri Lanka and currently ranks as one of the widest waterfalls in the country.It is best visited during the local wet season when the water is said to resemble an Areca flower with withering petals.This is situated in the 12-13thmilepost of Ella Wellawaya road.Ravana Falls can also be reached by travelling 10km towards Wellawaya from Kubalwela junction in Badulla Bandarawela road and could be a quick stop along the way as it can be viewed from the main road.That's very beautiful place.

4).Nelligala Temple.

The freedom you feel when you go to the top of a mountain is indescribable.We are constantly searching for healing in our minds as we think about how to get rid of a busy lifestyle.It is worth mentioning the Nelligala Vihara which is built on a hilltop that is easily accessible in such a background.The buildings of the Nelligala temple are very beautiful with a high construction style of architectural value.The Mahayana Buddha statue, a beautiful feature of the temple, is a perfect display of the golden Buddha statue, the Bo tree in the golden bowl, and the golden stupa combined with the blue sky soothes our minds.I went with my friends to visit the Nelligala temple last month too.Above is a photo taken there.

5).Hakgala botanical garden.

Hakgala Botanical Garden is the second largest garden among the five botanical gardens in Sri Lanka and is contiguous to Hakgala Strict Nature Reserve, which is the home to a variety of wild life, including bears, monkeys and birds.Situated some 5 kilometers South of Nuwara Eliya, the road to Hakgala along the Badulla road is a pleasant downhill drive, mostly through pine forests.The comfortable cool weather that prevails throughout the year compliments the exotic flora and fauna, creating a true paradise.It boasts thousands of flora species..
 
6). Parawi Duwa temple.

Paravi Duwa Temple is a Buddhist temple situated in Matara.It is a popular Buddhist temple as well as a tourist attraction in Matara.The temple is located in a beautiful island surrounded by the Indian Ocean.A steel bridge connects the island to the land on the other wide and devotees as well as tourists can easily access the temple.The sheer beauty of the temple attracts people of all faiths towards it.
